About KTH Holding

KTH Holding is a state-owned company investing in very early stage companies from KTH. We invest and help researchers and students to build companies from their ideas, research results and intellectual property rights (e.g patents).

In this way we put KTH research and education into use for benefit of society.

Lisa Ericsson

CEO

Lisa Ericsson has worked at KTH since 2002 and took over as CEO of KTH Holding AB in 2006. The following year, she took over as head of department at KTH Innovation. With over 20 years of experience from working with innovation and entrepreneurship in close connection with the university world, she has a deep insight into Sweden’s innovation system. She studied economics at Örebro University and the International Business School in Amsterdam. She has also supplemented her education with courses from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and IFL School of Business.

Daniel Carlsson

Investment Manager

Daniel Carlsson is responsible for investments in companies and IP at KTH Holding. He is also a business development coach at KTH Innovation and supports ideas with commercialization potential in medtech, chemistry and materials technology. Daniel has 20 years of experience in all areas required to bring early stage high tech ideas to market incl. funding, patenting, licensing etc. Daniel has previous worked for a medtech start-up. Daniel Carlsson has a master’s degree in engineering biology from Linköping Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in business  from Linköping University.

Linda Hellsvik

CFO

Linda Ergon Hellsvik has worked as CFO at KTH Holding AB since 2017. She is also CFO for the subsidiary KTH Executive School AB. Linda has 20 years of experience in accounting both in smaller companies and in larger international groups. She has studied International Economics at Södertörn University and Computer Economics at the University of Borås.

Simon Vaske

Portfolio Manager

Siimon has worked with small and medium-sized companies since 2004. He is currently business development coach at KTH Innovation within energy and cleantech. Previously he has been with the Swedish Trade Council and CEO of a start-up company. He has also had his own consulting company active in technology development as well as being an advisor to venture capitalists interested in renewable energy. He has has experience from board work and as chairman. Siimon holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Chalmers University of Technology and has studied commercial law at the Gothenburg School of Economics.

Investments in startup companies

To enable and support commercialization of research results and ideas from KTH we invest in startups based on KTH research and education. Today we manage a large portfolio of companies across different technology areas and development stages.

Holdings in Venture Funds and Incubators

To support the innovation ecosystem at KTH we have established venture funds such as KTH Chalmers Capital, STING Capital and Luminar Ventures.

Investment and management of IP

To support commercialization of research results from KTH we invest in patents and IP. The aim is to license, sell or if possible form a startup.

KTH Holding also owns and manages IP on behalf of KTH in various research centres and projects.

Verification funding

We manage funding programs to validate early stage ideas and take them closer to market. This is done with funding from external sources such as VINNOVA.
